They just want an RV and an RV now. Don’t let yourself fall into this pitfall.
And yet another pitfall is letting yourself get ahead of yourself and wanting the RV or travel trailer right away. If you want that RV delivered to you it’s going to cost more the sooner you want it. So if you get swept up in the rush of owning a very expensive vehicle and want it right away you’re just going to make that vehicle that much more expensive and that’s exactly what the dealers are going to be looking for when you buy your vehicle.
Don’t give your RV a once over and call it good. Like any major investment, you have to examine it in every nook and cranny. If you find problems with the RV, surely you won’t want to pay for them. What if after you bought the RV and the contract is already signed and the money paid and you start to drive down the road, the RV breaks down and the dealer says it’s not their problem? Don’t buy an inferior product, take your time when selecting a good sturdy RV. It doesn’t matter whether it’s new or not.
Sometimes it’s even more practical to buy a used RV because at least you know someone else has driven it and it hasn’t broken down on him or her. A new RV hasn’t been tested quite as much and still could have some kinks left in it. The key is always thorough inspection and don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions. It’s the dealer’s job to answer questions and guide you through the buying and inspection process. If you’re not sure what types of questions to ask, just ask a friend or neighbor who has already purchased an RV and I’m sure they’ll have just the right questions for you to ask.
