All the facts about Camping Trailers

Some people may not be into “roughing it out under the stars” so a Camping Trailer may be more down their alley. There are plenty of different types of Camping Trailers that can range from hardtops to pretty much a house on wheels. And pretty much like everything else in the world, there are pros and cons to all of these different types of Camping Trailers. This article will hopefully help you decide which is the right one for you.

The pop-up Camping Trailer or Fold-down is on the lower side of cost and is great for those who are camping at well-maintained campsite close to civilization or by the road. The trailers have a fiberglass or steel bottom with a top that can easily collapse for easy transportation and can be set up to be pulled by your vehicle. A small crank raises the pop-up tent to about 8 feet over the actual trailer.

Two or three bunks can come out of the sides of the travel trailer, which makes it look rather like a tent. They’re roughly the size of a double bed and can easily sleep two adults apiece. Some offer a bit extra space that may hold another person if needed.

A lot of models will also offer ample storage space for dishes and cups. They may also store utensils, clothing, or any other type of dry storage that you may need. Some of them even include a place for a sink, refrigerator, microwave, or even a stove. The central or dining area can even be collapsed or made into another bed to provide more room. If there is a generator nearby, the Trailer can even be hooked up to run electricity, just like home.

There are some more deluxe versions like the fifth-wheel trailer or the travel trailer. These trailers are not like the pop-ups as they are entirely rigid and ready to go at any time. The fifth-wheel trailers are more like houses than trailers. They contain a shower, toilet, and even separate rooms in the trailer. They can be equipped with internet and most come with a power generator already onboard.

These trailers can be a major investment and can’t be rushed into when purchasing. A lot of the trailers can last for many years so it is a sound investment but the price can be intimidating sometimes. The smaller pop-up tents are much easier to store at the house rather than 5th wheel trailers which really can’t fit into any garage. And if you don’t think that you’ll need to use a trailer to warrant the price, there’s always the option of renting a trailer, too.
