Travel Trailer Comparison Guide (Factory Specific)

Our Travel Trailer Comparison Guide rates all the major towable companies in North America that build; travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, ultra-lite and hybrid trailers. We do not rate pop-up tent trailer manufacturers in our guide.
We believe consumers need to understand how the manufacturers compare to each other FIRST before they start shopping for a particular RV model. With over eight years of research you can be confident in knowing you will have the most relevant information in your hands to purchase your next travel trailer or fifth wheel.
You will learn how RV manufacturers compare to each other in the areas of: Quality of Construction, Customer Satisfaction, Factory Support, RV Dealer Ratings and Resale Value.
There are a number of RV websites that claim to provide trailer reviews or ratings, yet they offer little more than basic specifications that can be found on most RV Manufacturers websites. Some websites provide RV articles that have been written to promote one brand or model, but they provide no real ratings or valuations.
Instead of settling for basic information our RV guide provides detailed reviews, not only in the form of rating charts, but valuable factory reviews, construction diagrams and proven RV buying tips that will save you thousands when it is time to buy, new or used.
Our Travel Trailer Comparison Guide is only offered through our company owned websites which are; JRconsumer.com, RVReviews.net, ClassBMotorhomesGuide.com & LigthWeightTrailer.net. Our publication can be purchased as an E-book (PDF) or Printed Copy. Our RV consumer guide is not available in book stores, we are continually updating our publication; a dedication which enables us to provide our readers with the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Our trailer guide rates overpopular RV Manufacturers in North America. Each article provides important information with helpful facts and insight about each company. Our goal is to give you a brief description or, “Snap Shot” of each RV Company based on interviews and research collected over the years. This gives you some insight into how each company got its start and the main focus or direction the company is heading.
Knowing which factories receive allows buyers to focus on quality companies that meet their travel needs and budget. It also eliminates confusion and frustration buyers experience when trying to figure out which company they can trust. This information in not available anywhere else and has taken us years to collect.
Overall the RV industry has been open to speaking with me and my research team. As expected, a few companies declined to speak with us but most welcomed the chance to get their information out. Each article contains information in these key areas:
- Company history
- Principle target customer
- List of best-selling models
- Company’s main competitors
- Average MSRP of best-selling models
- Financial stability of RV manufacturer
- Eight-year rating chart showing how each manufacturer performed (This chart is important and shows if company is trending upward or downward in quality, customer satisfaction, factory support and overall resale value of models)
- Honest & straight forward comments from research staff

Buying a Travel Trailer with Confidence
If you have never attended a large RV show or visited a mega RV dealer you are in for a big surprise. The first thing you’ll notice right off is, “There are so many choices, where do I begin?” Did you know this is the number one reason why people put off buying an RV? They are overwhelmed with all the choices and become frustrated; don’t let this happen to you!
The second biggest reason people decide not to buy an RV is that they don’t know who they can trust. It’s not uncommon to hear your RV salesperson say something like, “This manufacturer builds the best models". After you have visited a number of dealers it’s like a broken record. Everybody thinks their brands are the best in the industry. Our best-selling trailer guide cuts through the maze of confusion and sheds light on which RV manufacturers receive top ratings.
When buying a fifth wheel or travel trailer you need to know if it is adequate for your travel needs and be able to stand the test of time. Cheaper models will cause problems, frustration and produce a negative RV experience. Most RV buyers want a good deal and many will end up purchasing an RV model based on price alone and end up disappointed. Buy with confidence by being informed!

I just purchased your Travel Trailer Comparison Guide and I am very impressed!
I am getting ready to retire and have always wanted to visit our national parks. The economic slow-down has been tough on us and we don’t have a lot of money to spend but want a quality unit that will hold up over time.
We plan on spending a few months a year traveling and don’t want to get stuck with a poorly constructed model. After reading your articles on the different RV manufacturers and reviewing the rating charts we decided on a company we felt meet our travel needs and budget.
Your buying tips and how to buy the right RV warranty really helped. Our RV salesperson was amazed at how much we knew about the industry and their products. We saved thousands during the negotiation process and we ended up with the right model at a price much less than we anticipated.
Thank You!

Trailer Construction Methods & Techniques
In addition to providing ratings on over 98% of travel trailer manufacturers in North America, we also provide important information about how RVs are constructed and what to look for in a well-built trailer. In Chapter 2 of our book we focus on things like what to look for in a frame, different types of roofing materials and the pros and cons with each.
You will also learn about common construction methods for exterior walls, types of insulation being used and other important construction methods. We have spoken with many RV plant managers from various manufacturers.
Chapter 2 covers many critical aspects of the construction process and we felt it was desperately needed based on our research. Having a set of Construction Standards that properly reflect a structurally sound recreational vehicle is very helpful and eliminates a lot of confusion when trying to select a particular model. Chapter 2 has helped thousands of RV buyers and we receive countless emails from happy readers thanking us for including this in our publication. |

Factory Rating Charts Provide Valuable Data
Our staff rates each RV manufacturer, based on: Quality of Construction, Customer Satisfaction, Data collected from RV Dealers and Resale Values. We arrive at our conclusions by speaking with previous owners, attending various RV shows and conducting detailed research.
Within each category, a manufacturer receives a rating based on the research and data collected. Each category has a possible 25 points, being a perfect score.
Having rating charts from 2006 - 2013 at your fingertips allows you to see how each factory performed during those years. One big clue...is to look for trends over multiple years to see if a particular trailer manufacturer is trending upwards or down in quality, customer satisfaction, dealer ratings & resale value.

Thank you so much for sending me your Travel Trailer Comparison Guide
I have been waiting for your new edition to come out and the wait was worth it. A number of RV manufacturers we were considering are no longer in business. I have been doing some research and thought one company in particular would be a good choice, but after reading your guide I learned they were having financial problems.
My wife and I have narrowed our search down to one manufacturer based on your ratings and are please with all the information contained in this resource. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a new or used fifth wheel.
Great Job!

In addition to this you also have access to 3 RV Ratings Reports (there is no time limit in requesting your RV reports). We rate all RV models including travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers and even motorhomes from 1999 to present.
We recommend reading our Travel Trailer Guide first to learn which RV manufacturer's rate best. Once you have selected 2 or 3 manufacturers based on our factory ratings, we recommend visiting a number of RV dealers that offer products by those manufacturers. At this point you will have narrowed your search down to a few models and now you're ready to request your first RV Report.
If you order the E-book version of the Ultimate Travel Trailer Package you will receive an email with instructions to access your E-Book & RV FORM within minutes of placing order. All printed book orders will receive instructions to access RV form when book arrives priority mail.
To request your RV Report you will need to fill out a simple RV FORM on our website, which ask for make, model, year and length of unit you're interested in. Once we receive your information we will process your request and send your RV report(s) to your email address provided on the RV Form. Each report contains 7 to 8 pages of detailed ratings and wholesale and retail values for that particular model. All reports are sent as a Word Document and you can save each report to your computer or print report(s) using your printer.
Each RV Report is Broken Down into Three Parts:
Part 1: Intended Use
Each report focuses on Intended Use. There are four main categories most RV models will fall into. They are: Weekend use, Vacationer, Snowbird and Full-Time use.
Based on the standard options, overall quality, and data collected from various RV sources, we can accurately determine the overall intended use of a particular model. If your intention is to use your RV for short trips, for example, you probably do not need a model that was designed for full-time use.
Part 2: Comprehensive Model Ratings
The manner in which a particular travel trailer, fifth wheel or toy hauler performs in the areas of: Quality of Construction, Reliability, Payload, Customer Satisfaction and Resale Value will ultimately determine the overall satisfaction level of the unit.
When rating a particular model, our staff has spoken with RV owners, attended various RV shows and interviewed most of the RV manufacturers in North America. We have also collected data from RV websites, forums/blogs, customer survey polls and RV related organizations.
Part 3: 15-Year Depreciation Chart (Invoice/Wholesale Values)
This section of the report is very popular with our customers. We have spent many years researching the wholesale and retail values for many different recreational vehicles. ALL buyers want to know what the actual wholesale and retail values are for the RV model they are getting ready to purchase.
Based on our research and statistics from the NADA Guides (Dealers Version) and other resources, we have produced a 15-year depreciation chart that we believe properly reflects wholesale and retail value. For new models we will show dealers invoice and pre-owned models the wholesale value.
