Our Story
In 1999 I wrote a booklet called, “How To Buy A Manufactured Home” A simple consumer guide that was intended to help potential home buyers understand their options when purchasing a manufactured or mobile home. In 2000 I started advertising my booklet using PPC, (pay per click) services like Overture and Google, (AdWords).
At this time keywords I was interested in only cost 5 to 10 cents, which was very reasonable and my daily budget was around $30 per day. Because I was able to promote my website site using this type of advertising method my website was typically on the first page of Yahoo, MSN and Google.
Because my website was on the first page of major search engines book sales went through the roof!
In 2005 I wrote another publication that concentrated on the RV industry called the, “
RV Comparison Guide”
. Over the course of five years my PPC costs increased from 5 cents to 30 cents with a daily budget of $185 per day. I was spending around $4,000 to $6,000 a month in PPC advertising to promote my two books. Don't get me wrong I am convinced that PPC is an effective way to promote your website it has helped me to sell tens of thousands of books. But at the same time I also realized that if I don't get a handle on my advertising costs, (PPC) it would eventually eat away at my profits making it more difficult to maintain a visible web presents.
In 2004 I started researching different SEO, (search engine optimizing) companies in hope of getting my websites ranked in the natural or organic listings. I secured the services of one SEO company and was very disappointed with the results. After spending thousands of dollars I canceled my agreement and went back to promoting my books using PPC methods.
In 2005 I started investigating other SEO companies but I did not want to repeat what happened in 2004. This time I knew what I was looking for in a company and I was asking all the right questions, getting references and speaking with the owners of each SEO company. I finally decided on a company that I believed could do the job and deliver what they promised.
I was close to signing an agreement with this SEO Company when I noticed a website climbing in the rankings for an important keyword I was interested in, “Modular Homes”. My book, “The Complete Guide To Modular Housing” was selling well but my PPC costs were over 50 cents a click for this particular keyword. I decided to contact the owner of this site in hopes of working out some type of advertising agreement.
To make a long story short I made Greg Ryan the owner of this particular website a partner, it was the best decision I have ever made. Having a full time SEO person working to get your websites ranked makes all the difference in the world. Greg has the skills and experience to get sites ranked. Today we are ranked #1 for “Modular Homes” on Google. Greg has also achieved amazing results for RV related keyword phrases like, motorhomes, fifth wheel, travel trailers, RV ratings and so on.
Conclusion:
Because we have been so successful in getting our websites ranked we are now offering our SEO services to others. Our goal is not to be the biggest SEO Company but to work with a few clients at a time, keeping our workload manageable. This way we are able to offer unsurpassed customer service and achieve quality rankings in a timely manner.
