Foretravel RV Reviews by JR Consumer Resources

foretravel motorhomesThe business of building motorhomes came about not due to planning by the Fores, yet by the traveling they did in their self-built motorhome. From that modest beginning in 1967 with the 29’ “Speedy Marie” motorhome - produced in the backyard of C.M. & Marie Fore, Foretravel continued to set the standard. Weathering the oil embargos of the early 1970’s, Foretravel introduced the first diesel-powered motorhome in 1974.

In addition to the numerous conveniences of a Foretravel, i.e.; flat screen TV’s, central vacuum cleaners, icemakers, trash compactors, Foretravel was among the first to use fiberglass instead of aluminum, real hardwood, and a full air bag suspension. With the aerodynamic structure, the Fores wanted even more for their customers, so they developed the first unibodied chassis in 1986, and the Unihome was introduced. The new Unihome offered incomparable drivability and handling, along with a sleek new design. In 1995 the Unicoach was born. It resembled a bus with a front entry, all the comfort amenities, a big engine, and the Allison World 6 Transmission.  Foretravel’s innovation is evident in its exclusive TravelRide chassis. The newly designed chassis provides maximum storage and superior ride and handling which is one of the many characteristics that sets Foretravel apart. The Unihome chassis stood the test of time for twenty years, and it was not until late 2006 that it was re-engineered and the TravelRide chassis was born. For the 2012 IH we have taken the TravelRide chassis a step forward. The IH rides on the new TravelRide II chassis, the best handling, most stable chassis we have ever produced. Foretravel coaches have vacuum-bonded and insulated steel frames in all sidewalls, floors, sub-floors and storage bay walls. The roof has a vacuum-bonded and insulated aluminum structure, and is made of one fiberglass piece for greater strength and lower weight. Foretravel coaches house custom-crafted all wood cabinetry made of the finest materials available, high-quality designer furniture using the choicest of fine leathers and fabrics, topped with luxurious countertops and filled with the latest appliances and audio-visual technology.

foretravel rvForetravel puts their focus on deluxe diesel coaches with quality being the main goal of the company. Foretravel is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the market for an upper-end deluxe diesel coach. Our research determines they do very well in all categories and they are now available through their Foretravel Texas sales operation, adjacent to the production plant in Nacogdoes Texas. The company has authorized centers around the country as well as at a select number of independent dealers. Foretravel considers Monaco, Country Coach, and entry level bus conversions to be among their closest competitors. Foretravel’s customers are upper-end with quality being the most important aspect of the decision process.

Foretravel has several new coaches already available for 2012. They all come from their Foretravel lines; the IH, the Phenix and the Nimbus, and many are selling before they come off the production line. The 2012 Foretravel IH-45 Quad Slide is the peak of luxury. Built on a Cummins ISX 650 hp, engine and a Allison 4000MHR transmission, it has a length of 45’, and four slideouts consisting of a living room and bedroom. The roof is a one piece Fiberglass roof with a sub floor, and a full body paint with a clear coat finish. With custom floorplans and luxurious amenities too numerous to name here, check the Foretravel website for all the details.
