Buy a Toy Hauler

You know you want one. You wanted one even before they were designed, and now that they are advertising them on TV you know you need to own one. What? You aren’t salivating over a brand new Toy Hauler?

The Toy Hauler is a hybrid vehicle that appeals to a specific class of American. The Toy hauler comes either as a trailer or as a custom design motorhome. What is a toy hauler, you ask? Take a (more or less) standard Class A Motorhome or travel trailer and either add a few feet in the back or just squeeze the living quarters a bit to make room for a few feet in the back. Affix a hinged loading ramp in place of the back wall, and your toy hauler is mostly done. You might want to replace the fancy flooring with a more industrial, garage type floor, and you will probably want to add some tie down hooks. You have a toy hauler. You can make your toy hauler fit a trailer with two personal watercraft on it, or make it for a couple of dirt bikes or ATVs. If you don’t feel handy enough to do the job yourself, you can order one built to your specifications and the measurements of your “toys” by your choice of custom RV coach maker.

If you don’t have the toys yet, but just have the money, feel free to specify the toys which you want to carry in your toy hauler and either your coach builder or your dealer will gladly purchase the toys for you and deliver them with your toy hauler. You can even specify that the toys be painted to complement the graphics on the side of your toy hauler.

Toy haulers are the latest wrinkle in the RV industry, and although in a sense they are another example of American excess, in a very American way, they are a needed accessory for some people. If they didn’t have a toy hauler, they would have to make several trips to their chosen recreation destination or invite more people to come along just to tow more gear, and then of course, they would need more gear still. A toy hauler is a good idea whose time has come and the toy hauler will probably stay around for some time.

Of course, if you just want to bring your bikes or your PWC or fishing boat to the place where you plan to use those toys, you can put them in a regular trailer, and sleep in a hotel. On second thought, that just won’t do I need my toy hauler.

Author's Notes: Just to let you know how much of an impact my RV Comparison Guides have had, the folks at RV Trader decided to promote my guides in their magazine on a NATIONAL SCALE for FREE. They felt the content was so desperately needed in the industry today. You can't buy that kind of advertising and it proves how valuable my guides have become for RV buyers considering a motorhome, fifth wheel, travel trailer or toy hauler!

I thought your book was magnificent! My wife and I are in the early stages of searching for an RV travel trailer. We want to do some serious traveling and see as much of the United States as possible. Your RV Comparison Guide and rating charts helped us select the right RV manufacturer. The RV Appraisal was a big help, knowing the wholesale price is a big advantage during the negotiation process. Thanks so much!
