What are the differences between Towable and Motorized RVs?

There are two types of RVs available, motorized and Towable. A Motorized Vehicle uses a chassis to support itself and runs on some type of fuel such as gas or electricity. Three classes (A, B, C) make up motorized vehicles.  Type A Motor Homes are the largest at 25-45 feet and are the ones that resemble more of a bus in appearance.  They are also the most well equipped and can include anything from large televisions, washers and dryers, separate rooms, and sometimes can be larger than a typical house. The second type B motor homes are the smallest coming in at around 16-20 feet in length. It’s just like the other one and is very comfortable; the only difference is everything is a bit more compact. Type C, or mini-motor homes, can range anywhere from 20-35 feet in length and are built on a cutaway chassis.

Just like the name sounds, Towable RVs are just ones that are towed behind another vehicle and can be detached to be set up when you arrive at your destination. When you have this, you can leave the RV back at the campsite and take your tow vehicle to go sightseeing. Towable RVs can mean anything including include folding camping trailers, truck campers, travel trailers and of course 5th wheel travel trailers. The lightest weighted and least expensive of the group are the pop-up trailers. Depending on what you buy determines what will come with it, because some can even come equipped with bathrooms already installed. Completely set up the camper can be from 15 to 24 feet long. The Truck campers are simply that, a camper that is set up in the back of a truck. Because of its shortness and maneuverability, it will be easier for you to access more rugged terrain. Rvers really enjoy the travel trailers because of their variety. No matter how many people want to go on a trip with you, you’ll find a Travel Trailer to suit your need. They can ranged anywhere starting at 15 feet all the way up to 35 feet.  5th wheel trailers are the type of trailers that fit right into the back of your pickup truck. These can be anywhere from 21-45 feet in length and are an Rver’s favorite as they tend to be the largest of all the classes.
