Consider Renting an RV
Are you considering buying an RV? Let me be more specific, a Class A or C Motorhome? It could be either gas or diesel and they vary in length from 24 to 42 feet. Most RVs today are fully furnished homes with flat-screen TV’s, leather furniture, satellite Internet, king size bed and full size washer and dryer. But this all comes with a heavy price tag including; high gas prices, regular maintenance and if you took out a RV loan, the payment. Not to mention RV insurance. In all, the monthly costs of owning a nice RV can add up and stretch your budget.
Owning a recreational vehicle also means lots of work. You have to load and unload all the equipment and gear every time you go somewhere. A lot of the work can go into setting up your motorhome once you arrive like; hooking up water, checking the sanitation, electricity and on it goes. |
Rent an RV Instead
Take my advice, rent an RV or travel trailer first to see if the RV lifestyle is really for you. If you are not used to driving a heavy wide-bodied vehicle, you may be in for a surprise. Think about all the possibilities as you are using the RV and see if it still appeals to you after you’re done renting the vehicle.
Other important aspects to renting a RV, is testing your endurance, patience and stamina. The RV industry has done a good job in promoting themselves with colorful TV ads showing a content family traveling in a beautiful motor home through a national park. But don’t kid yourself. Owning a RV is a lot of work. See if you can adjust to the routine first before you shell out thousands of dollars.
