Shea at first thought about acquiring an existing RV company but then decided to start from scratch so he could build RVs the way he thought best. Gulf Stream was born and is today one of the top manufacturers in the country selling strong in all regions and looking to gain a two to five percent growth in 2006.
Because they are a full-line RV manufacturer, Gulf Stream considers all other manufacturers their closest competition. But as a company representative said, they offer such a broad spectrum that they take the entry level customer and keep them all the way to the high end diesel level. Or sometimes, a customer will start at the top with GulfStream and as they get older, travel less and wind down with Gulf Stream. We carry everything from diesel Class A to luxury fifth wheels to entry level vehicles and everything in-between. We have something for everyone. We are all about quality, innovation and value. Those are our three key focuses. says a company representative.

Gulf Stream Debuts Lightweight Montaj A-Body
Gulf Stream has introduced an all-new 30-foot Montaj Class A gas-powered motorhome on a 14,500-pound Ford E-series chassis previously only available as a Class C cutaway platform. "It's all about being lightweight, lightweight, lightweight,'' said Dean Crane, Gulf Stream, director of public relations and training for the Nappanee, Ind., manufacturer.
Equipped standard with a 305-hp 5.4L, Ford V-8 gas engine, Montaj will get up to 15 mpg, according to Gulf Stream. With either one or two slideouts, Montaj features a one-piece windshield and a European-inspired interior with thermopane acrylic windows, curved cabinets, twin beds that swing down from over the cockpit and convertible J-couches. Cockpits seats swivel and slide back toward the dash to become part of the living area. MSRP: $111,986
